logo Contest
HURON, OH 1809-2009
To kick off Huron’s 200th Celebration in 2009, the Bicentennial Committee held a Bicentennial Celebration Logo Design Contest.
Judging took place in early November, 2008, and the winning design is presented here. It was created by Robb Harst of Huron. Congratulations, Robb, and thank you!
The logo speaks well to the Bicentennial theme of Huron: The Land, The Lake, The River, The People.
Huron’s Maritime history is well represented in the logo with views of our Lighthouse, the Hewlett ore boat unloaders, and an ore boat itself. While the Hewletts have long been dismantled and the boats arrive less frequently and use self-unloaders these days to unload their cargo, Huron’s lighthouse remains a steady beacon and easily identifiable landmark for our city.

It's a Year Long
Celebration in 2009!
