Beard Growing Contest
 HURON, OH 1809-2009

 

In order to participate in the Huron Bicentennial Beard Growing Contest, you MUST be a resident of Huron Township,  which includes Huron City, or, if you live outside of Huron, a former student of the  Huron City Schools. Judging will take place during the Bicentennial Week Celebration in August.  Watch for time and place announcement.

 

There will be a winner in each category plus an overall “best-of-show” beard as determined by the judges.  You may enter both a beard and a moustache category. For the actual judging, you may wear any hat or articles of clothing that enhance your beard style.  Sculpting of the beard is permitted in order to achieve the desired style. 

 

Possible deductions  to beard style include nose hair, ear hair, neck hair, bad eyebrows, foul odor, and entangled remnants of lunch.

 

Judging will take place in the following categories:

  • Beard
  • Moustache
  • Presidential Look-Alike
  • Best handlebars
  • The Asiatic Look
  • Best All Around
  • Scruffiest Beard
  • Neatest Beard
  • Most Original Look
  • Longest Beard (as measured from the tip of the nose)

Winners will receive ribbons for 1st - 3rd place with the 1st place winners also receiving $50.00 cash.

Garden Tour Follow Up & Recipes
